average cost to of making 2lbs of soap

Hi. I have been buying 2 pound blocks of soap from a craft supplier near my home. I would like to start making goatsmilk or olive oil soap myself now and what I'm wondering is if it will cost less to make it than the $6-$7 per 2 pounds I've been paying. Thanks
