how to scent liquid soap

hi there, i have followed the instructions here to make liquid soap: http://www.colebrothers.com/soap/liquid.html

i am ready to add scent. do i need to heat the soap paste before incorporating essential oil or fragrance using the blender? if so, do i need to add water to the paste before heating it and what temperature should the paste be before i can incorporate scent?
